Built this in between snow storms and related time-sucking aftermath...
Had this kit stored away for decades - actually, for decades I'd forgotten about it - and decided to build it as a gift for a buddy who's been wanting a full-size GTO for years. MPC must have made GTO promos, judging by the mounting posts they left in (front & rear). Not a bad kit, but the fit leaves something to be desired. Bought a nice decal set off Ebay that was larger & better than the kit had, foiled the lower rocker trim, made a few mods underhood, and did the usual wiring & hoses. Moldings weren't too hard to accent with the chrome pen. Oddly, 3 of the 4 wheels locate correctly - note RF sits back - in spite of the chassis being a loose fit. Also, the ft bumper/grille/headlamp assembly gaps are a bit inconsistent. But overall, I guess it's OK.
Next up is a Moebius '65 Belvedere I sedan that's getting a Hemi & Dana transplant, E1 dark blue with blue interior. Somehow my phone isn't sending photos to my PC now, but I'll get that fixed and share photos later...

Thanks, Al. Yeah, how they buggered the wheel/tire location is a mystery. Chassis fit loosely enough that I though I could tweak it to cure that, but nope. I trimmed the promo-style webbing between windshield & back glass; it offended my delicate sensibilities, haha. I shaved the front mounting posts on one side and made a filler panel to hide the gap between the radiator support and grille/header area. Painted it with a Tamiya lacquer as a basecoat. and Testor's Extreme Clear over that after it sat a few days so I could nib the basecoat. I've learned to do the foil, chrome pen & decals before the Clear, so they're locked down.

Looking great in red. Iconic GTO in red for sure.

Thanks. Oh, forgot to mention: MPC for some reason added "PONTIAC" letters to the rear body panel, and what seems to be an upper side molding, neither of which '67 GTOs had. Had to shave that stuff off. So I guess they confused GTOs somewhat with Tempests. Baffling kit, to be sure.
