This is what I’ve been working on. A Dark Blue hemi GTX. I still have to buff it out and if it needs it apply clear coat. Got the interior. It’s set and ready to install. The engine is also ready to install. I’m still working on the chassis and suspension. Got the wheels ready and the exhaust. Slow but sure.

Nice work! That blue color is amazingly close to the real one.

The color I used is actual automotive paint a friend gave me. It’s DuPont acrylic enamel.

VERY nice ! Ironically, I'm going down a rabbit hole and doing a black/black one with 440/4-speed like the one I wanted when I was 16. But having another '67 GTX kit molded accurately in 881 blue (the 1-year-only medium metallic blue), I'm probably building that afterwards as Hemi/4-speed with dark blue interior. Plan is to just clean up the body & avoid painting it, just detail & polish it. If either turns out as nice as yours, I'll be satisfied, but I just remembered the electrical panel aft of the battery that '66-'67 Hemi cars had. Gotta finish reclaiming a JoHam '69 RR I bought "used" first...

I’ve got one more. Looking forward to seeing your version.

Still working on the GTX. Had trash on the trunk lid. So I had to sand it down smooth because it would drive me crazy it I left it that way. So next week it will be a little warmer so I can re shoot it with two more coats of color. Hopefully it will turn out ok.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who does body and paint work on real cars. He had a '67 Plymouth Satellite, and was painting it black. He was nearly finished, when suddenly, a giant moth decided to land right in the middle of the top of the car! It got stuck in the paint, and flopped around for a bit before my friend was able to get him out. He did have to repaint the roof.

Yeah it suck’s having to redo stuff. The difference between the real and scale cars are big. A speck of trash on a model looks like a lump of coal on a real one. Lol.

Here’s a sneak peek of the GTX after clear coating Going to wait a few days to let it dry then on to sanding and buffing.
