That gave it a good shine! Made the blue look more rich.

I’ve got almost everything ready to assemble. I just have to airbrush the interior visors the blue. Unfortunately I still got trash in the clear. That will take time after it dries to sand out.

Getting closer! Got the chassis all painted but not glued together yet. Don’t know if any of you ever noticed but this kit doesn’t have the lower control arm stabilizer bars. So I made them from pins. I also added the k member skid plate that the Hemi cars came with. Almost finished sanding and buffing the body.

Good catch on the skid plate ! That all looks very nice. The other thing they forgot was a Dana 60 (for the 4-speed cars), yet they did nice torque boxes, and so many other things pretty well.

Yeah your right on the Dana 60 that’s why I just painted it all black. I always wonder how much research they actually do before deciding to use a certain car to model. And you know for the money we pay for kits you would think the subject should be correct. And I’m speaking about the kits from the last 20 years.

Yup, that's why I buy a lot of spare parts - but still, some stuff is kinda baffling. On my Cuda project, I had to re-do the headlight areas & rear license area - they got them very wrong. It's an old snap-fit kit that's descended from a promo, but still...the rear license recess was molded like a stand-out parachute mount !

Got the all the trash out of the clear and buffed out. And it’s looking like glass. Next is applying the foil and then on to put it together.

For polishing I first use 2500 paper. Lightly sand the bad spots under running water. Make sure the paper has some liquid soap on it. Don’t press hard let the paper do the work. Sand back and forth and left to right. And avoid the body lines. Wipe the car down every few Seconds with a clean paper towel to check your progress. Once all the trash is out I use 3200 then 3600, 4000, 5000, 6000, 8000 and finish with 12,000 paper all wet with soap. I rinse the car with a soft old tooth brush and clean water. Finally I use with another wet clean rag Mequiar’s mirror glaze 205 and use a very small amount and polish the one area at a time. I like after using the polish i buff the area with just a wet clean cotton rag to bring out the shine. Then after a dry clean rag. Once the shine comes out. I do the final buffing with 3M fill ‘n glaze. This removes that light haze in the paint and really makes it shine. One more thing make sure you have a minimum of at least 4 or 5 coats of clear before trying this guys. I know it’s a lot of work but you can see the results.

well, i actually do not know about the 67 cars. 68,9 and 70 cars, only the hemis got the torque boxes. oh and i believe convertibles. thats why people used to say that hemi cars were built on convertible chassis where really, they just had the torque boxes installed. i believe the 440 +6 runner and super bee had them also. i am going to have to recheck a few things.

I know my Duster 340 has the torque boxes and the regular Dusters 318 and 225 didn’t. That’s why I thought all the HP cars had them.
