Bought this on Ebay fairly cheap as these kits go, was partially built. Someone had buggered the door handles, and it was missing some parts. I have plenty of RR parts, and it was "just" a molded-in-white kit, so thought I'd see if I could make something out of it. Plus I wanted something in a lighter/brighter orange than my Tor-Red Duster.
Well, AMT stuff is fairly different from JoHan in contour - like the bumpers, for example. Took a fair amount of adaptive work, and some stuff like door handles, decals, and whatnot... Man, the fit on some of the JoHan stuff - like aprons/body - is pretty crude. Yet the body contours themselves are nice.
Now on to the '67 GTX, though I may get sidetracked doing an FM3 'Cuda, haha...

Looks great in red. I always liked the proportions on the Johan kits better than AMT kits.

It's actually orange, but it looks like a bright red on my monitor, too.
Probably not enough light, as the photo also looks low-res in spite of it being taken with my smartphone.
I should take better photos of it and re-post, I guess.
Yes, JoHan did way better than AMT on the body contours/proportions; oddly, though, I had to open up the grille area to get the grille to fit nicely.
It took some effort to adapt parts from AMT to JoHan; I can hang & align a real bumper in less time, haha.
The JoHan undercarriage and engine compartment really betray their promo origins.
