Ok guys. I decided to restart my polar lights 65 coronet convertible. And I want to make it the single four barrel engine. I think that would be a 383 or 426 street edge. Not sure what color to paint it correctly. On my hardtop I made it a dual four barrel and painted it orange. What I’m asking is if it’s a single carb what color would be right. I’m going for the bright red convertible from the Beverly hillbillies tv show.

BBs were turquoise - A engines were red - Maxies were a brownish-orange, which became Race Hemi Orange. Heater hose routing was quite different from the '66-up cars.

Some say that blue superceded turquoise on non-HP BBs for the'70 model year (lower CR) but I've never researched that, and I don't recall my '70 Satellite 383's engine color with certainty. May be a thread on the topic in the moparts.com archives. Another color argument centers on '69 340s: apparently a mid-MY change, which means only untouched-original cars should be used for reference.
