Been working on the latest issue of Revell’s Roadrunner. Just finished clearing the body. As you can see it’s FC7 purple. A friend of mine got me a pint of automotive base coat. So you know in the future I will be spraying a lot of cars one of my favorite colors. Never used this Dynacoat Basecoat by Akzo Nobel. But it covered will considering it was kinda watery. The color looks to be an exact match. I didn’t go too crazy on the details but I did separate the exhaust from the rear end. And I replaced the kit wheels with rallies and Goodyear tires from my parts box. I didn’t wire this one. Just detailed it a little. The interior is really to go. I also made the ram air door on the hood functional so I can display it open or closed. Now I have to let it dry so I can cut and buff it this weekend. I still haven’t decided if I’ll go with the black hood stripe or not. Slowly working on it.

White interiors sure make car "pop", don't they ? Looks great ! Kinda surprising that Revell left out the dash speaker & defroster duct details, that's an AMT thing. Likewise, the engine compartment in that kit reminds me of the old JoHan kits. I thought about correcting that on the Revell '70 RR kit I built a while back & posted here, but I didn't.

I agree about the white interior. Remember that this kit was an old Monogram GTX kit before they converted it to a roadrunner so it had minimal detail from the beginning. And I don’t think they wanted to spend more money for improvements. And yeah engine compartment not correct. But until the round 2 group puts out a 1/25 scale 70 we have to settle with these.

Yup, I agree - I built an old/incomplete JoHan '69 RR kit a while back and the aprons didn't even fit the fenders worth a damn. Maybe someone can convince Tamiya to do some Mopar kits, haha...

Thanks. I really like this color. Plus since a friend gave me a pint of it I’ll be doing more cars this color.
