After viewing someone else's '69 GTX, I decided to pull out mine which I had started a couple of years ago and never finished it. I went to clearcoat the model and I forgot that the paint used was MCW Enamel and not MCW Lacquer which was what I have been using for years. Since this paint was a gift from a model club friend, I realized my mistake, but the damage was done. I have a little paint left and maybe it will be enough to finish off my GTX.

I guess you can dip it and strip it and start all over again. You think you have enough paint left over?

Thanks topside, Joe and Ed! Ed, I don't have enough paint to strip it and repaint it. Just enough paint left to repaint the roof and the trunk. I like the color, but I don't want to go out and buy more paint.

I think you'll recover. The color looks great on that one. Hope you don't have to strip it and change color.

I won't strip it due to the fact that I have so much time put into the GTX. I love the color and the GTX should be finished with that color. I remember looking at a '68 GTX that was for sale at the side of a local convenience store with a white interior and no performance hood stripes and it was gorgeous! Only God knows were it is now.

Q5 with white interior is gorgeous...I owned & restored this one many years ago. Made a scale model of it a couple years back.

Wow! I think I would never have sold that if I had it. What a beauty

Thanks - yeah, it was a petty thing, but I had to sell a couple cars to get through an ugly divorce. So the AT cars moved out. The car went on to take 1st in Restored B-bodies @ the Mopar Nats, then sold for big money, then pretty much disappeared.
