The 2008 Ram 1500 that is in my previous avatar was purchased in 2014, so I've had it for 10 years. As of Friday, July 12, 2024, it had 187,000+ miles on it. This has been a real workhorse for me, as it has dragged around a 29' travel trailer, and I used it to move 2000+ square feet of belongings twice while we were in the process of selling the house and moving. All that hauling was done with a 12' trailer, so you can imagine how many trips that took!! In the middle of all that, Big Orange required a major brake overhaul! Also, Big Orange made two or three trips to Panama City Beach fully loaded! Lately, it was determined that ball joints and tie rod ends were getting weak, the A/C has a leak, and a pesky speed sensor on the rear axle just won't behave. So, I pulled it into the back yard and hit with the pressure washer....... Forgive the over-exposure, as I had the camera set wrong, but it turns out this faded look will be appropriate, as you'll see shortly. So, the following shot is Big Orange at the DEALERSHIP! Yes, you heard that right!! So, these three shots are sort of a fade-out of Big Orange, as it were. Cue the fade-in....... Which brings us to this.... The newest stablemate to the 300s. 2016 RAM 1500 5.7 HEMI. So begins a new era. So long Big Orange. You were a faithful friend!!

Thanks, Joe! I found out that, even though it's a Ram 1500, by it being 8 years newer than Big Orange, it seems to be an entirely different truck! I have to learn where everything is, and how to use them!!

Thanks, mopar! I didn't like it when they dropped the Dodge name, but it's still MOPAR! LoL I've owned 9 pickup trucks and this is the first black one.
