The club I’m in decided to do a same kit build and we ended up pick the AMT GMC Jimmy. Now one of the club members wasn’t able to make it. And some of you may know him from his YouTube channel, but it’s Chuck from Chuck’s Hobby Spot. He kept texting me asking me what they had decided on so as a joke, I told him they picked the General Lee and even Matt AKA Lucas, C, and Bryan from BG from BG’s model workshop got in on the joke and were texting Chuck the same thing. And Chuck was like WTF are you kidding me!! We didn’t let him know the real pick until he saw Lucas C’s video of the meeting, but in the meantime, Chuck was coming up with all kinds of ideas to build aGeneral Lee differently. After the meeting someone sent me a eBay listing for these wheels & tires. So I decided to build mine up like a General Lee with a little twist. 😁 I didn’t like the fit of the removable top so I had the idea of cutting the top off of a Chevy truck and using it like a half cab. And after looking at it for a while I just wasn’t feeling it. So I came up with this idea!! I used the half windshield from an original GMC Sierra pickup kit. And I decided I didn’t like the front & rear differentials that came in the kit and I went with some from one of my Dodge 4X4 kits. Also a buddy of mine printed a sweet 572 Chevy engine and 3 different intakes for me. I’m going with the tunnel ram setup. I had to do some work on the chassis to get the headers to fit between frame rails. That was done by adding plastic to the outside of the rails and sanding the inside until the headers fit. More to come soon.

Wow! Ambitious project! Are you going to trim the cab roof to fit the half windshield? Maybe fix it to be removable?
