Well. with the GTS almost done and fresh in my mind, I've started on the Swinger 340 project. I think I'll do it in B5 blue, blue interior, and white stripe. 340 & 4-speed from an AMT Duster, steelies & poverty caps, redlines. Deleting the radio & antenna, modifying a resin Chevelle seat for the front bench - which required a slight narrowing, but I want the seat backs to look right anyway. It'll have the base interior. I'll delete the rocker moldings, wheel-opening moldings, and power brake booster, too - it'll be the stripper version.
I'm leaning toward using bumpers from the '68 Dart kit - no bumper guards. Deciding the best way to separate all the rearend stuff so it fits during assembly, as every kit version has the tail lights attached to the rear bumper.

I think I figured a couple things out on it: The rear trunk lid panel is on and I'm working on the seam. Gets another mock-up for tail lamps & fillers before paint. I'm on my 3rd method of doing the seats, basically arrived at the old vinyl-top trick. Got color on chassis stuff, drivetrain is maybe half done. Started on interior, modified the steering wheel into the base version, shaved the radio, shot some paint. Guess I should take a couple photos !

So, a tip for anyone wanting to do this: the rear trunklid panel & upper trunk panel each have a bevel, so getting that panel in the right location is kinda fussy. I'm on my 4th pass at filling (hiding) that seam. That may be because the panel flexes away from the upper body, so I've added a styrene reinforcement at the backside of the seam. Had to make the oil filler cap and the base/standard horn button, modified the steering wheel to the base version, likewise the dash face. Might have to use the AMT Duster 340 exhaust - in part or whole - to meet up with the manifolds, but we'll see. I'm thinking teh Revell BB exhaust won't meet up properly. This one is more fun than expected - glad I did the GTS kit first !

Progress so far - there are a few things I need to mess with further to make them better, but this is where things stand as of yesterday.
