I like ZZ Top but I don't like the way the Eliminator is built. Chevy SB + TH350 is very strange combo to this great hot rod. Ford V8 flathead or 302 would be much better choice.
This is the Eliminator kit
I studied the kit and it is not what it should be. Revell has cheated us. Real Eliminator has Chevy SB 350 + TH350 but kit has unknown V8 (Ford flathead?) with chevy intake and heads. Transmission looks like an old flathead manual tranny. There is no timing cover either only pulleys and belt. No shock absorbers or brake master cylinder. Drive shaft and rear end are old torque tube design not Ford 9" + open drive shaft. Rear suspension is correct transverse leaf spring. And some internet reviews says this is an accurate kit
Her are all 70 parts of the kit
Ok. Enough about the inaccuracies. I'm going to use 392 Hemi and A727 automatic or A833 4-speed manual. Rear end will be Dana 60 if I can find one. All missing parts will be added.

I found a resin Dana 60 (Competition resins CRC-168) in my parts box and it seems to be more capable to handle 392 raw power than old torque tube.
Tires are one question. I like big white walls but Modelhaus is closed and I can't find other source for them. I need only wide rear white walls (height 28-30mm, width 10-15mm) because front tires I have found from AMT tires pack (AMTPP002, Firestone deluxe champion tires).
These are what I tested today. Left tires are from the kit and right are from parts box.
How about this kind of bad ass girl hot rod? I like its style and I could use blower too. Eliminator feels a plain Jane car compared to this Bad Girl

Ohhhh. I see now, there was, or is, a car in the picture too. Wow, somehow I almost missed it.

Thank you for the link. I didn't know Modelhaus tires are still for sale. Unfortunately there was not that kind of tires I needed. I want same size white wall and tread to front and rear tires.
AMT tire pack has nice narrow tires with medium size white wall. My friend said that vinyl tires can't be cut accurately so I tried to sand them. I think now I need only black rubber glue.

All parts are primered now and waiting for painting. The engine is partly ready too. One blower belt pulley, A/C compressor and alternator does not have supports and they have to be made. Distributor is parts box predrilled part because I can't glue ignition wires to the tiny original distributor. This is nice engine with a lot of parts however parts does not fit very well. Bad girl has a golden heart. I have broken my left finger joint three weeks ago and it has slowed down my building speed. I have to use this splint three more weeks. Bad luck

Sorry about your finger Karl. At least you're still building though! The progress looks good so far and I like where you're going with the engine!

392 is a big engine. I had to cut firewall away. Bigger drive shaft tunnel must be made and some body trimming is still needed. Drag race fuel cell will replace original gas tank. I love this old Hemi and it is one of my favorite engine now.
