Steve the vin number does not indicate it’s a Hemi car. JK. Nice little details added. My research shows that the VIN is correct for a 1968 Hemi Coronet R/T and on further inspection, all of the numbers match right down to the date-coded check-valve on the brake booster. This is quite the find and a fine survivor. Has anyone contacted Galen Govier, I believe he would love the opportunity to document this car.

Absolutely amazing work Steve! I am not worthy to even grovel at your feet, or even under your work area. Did you make the data plate out of foil? It looks absolutely perfect. Okay enough groveling, although you deserve my admiration. Oh and now that the VIN plate has been mentioned, I can't wait to get a look at it.

Steve any updates for us? Still working on it.
Just nothing new to show at the moment.
Getting things ready to begin final assembly.
More to come soon.

Well, I guess I'm ready to enlighten you with another update now.
The glass is in, interior installed, and the engine and frame in place.
The engine bay detail should now be finished.
Getting to this point was a little bit of a nail biting experience!
As I contemplated how I was going to get the engine, radiator bulkhead and chassis mated to the body, it became obvious to me that it wasn't going to be just a quick drop in.
I could only come up with one solution.
I had to put the radiator bulkhead into the body, but leave it loose, followed by positioning the engine into the engine bay from the bottom.
Then I put some glue into the motor mounts, as well as a few areas of the frame and slid the frame in, trapping the engine in place.
I then came back later to glue in the radiator bulkhead.
A little unorthodox, but it worked!
Then I attached the brake booster vacuum hose and negative battery cable, Added the master cylinder and lines, washer jar and motor, heater hose clamp, radiator hose and clamps, horns, radiator cap and hood latch spring, as well as a few decals, and the engine bay was done!

Steve you have out done your self on this one! It’s awesome! If I’m not mistaken I believe that the real ones were assembled similar to the way you did yours. On the real ones the engine would be with the K - frame and the car body was lowered onto it. That’s what I’ve seen them do on the TV programs.

I've seen that too, but I never expected that I'd have to do it that way on a model!

Steve that’s because you build your cars so perfect to the real ones.

Steve that’s because you build your cars so perfect to the real ones. No, it's because I use so many mismatched parts!

just incredible. your sense of realism is outstanding, and then to duplicate that in model form is just fantastic. i do have a request. i copy almost every picture you post. i know i and others have asked a thousand question, if you could, could you just post up a few pictures of your work area, what paints you use and such. i have a long art background. have worked with a lot of medias, but when i try to duplicate some of your techniques, well lest just say mine dont come out anything like yours. do you do any other type of art or painting? thanks for sharing your builds and going into the detail on your descriptions.
oh, and your patience. i noticed on one of the facebook sites you posted this on, you got asked about 4 times "why and how do you flatten the tires". by the second one i would have told the person in no uncertain words to "READ THE DAMN POSTS!!" but you answered them every time. kudos to you.
