Thanks guys! No, not exactly any rubber boots for the plugs, but here's what I'm trying out. The rear boot is finished. Steve

There are no words that I can think of too describe how amazing this build is so far! The attention to every single little detail is just astounding! The engine and transmission is a work of art in itself, I can’t wait to see the finished product!!

Magnificent ! Is this a Day 2 car ? Reason I ask is Street Hemis had 2 tubes for intake heat that ran from the rt exhaust manifold to rear of the intake. Those were usually removed pretty quickly, especially if headers went on. In the car, hard to see unless you're looking from the right fender.

No, it will actually be built basically stock, although it won't be showroom fresh. The grime on the engine will evidence that, plus I scratch built an under dash 8-track tape player and will probably add a column mounted tach.
I was aware of the heat tubes at the rear of the engine, but unfortunately, not every detail can be added without major changes having to be made. In a nut shell, there is basically no room between the engine and the firewall to add the tubes.

Makes sense - like trying to put a fan shroud on the AMT GTX I'm turning into a RR; can't get the whole thing in there, but mostly only the top & bottom would be visible. It's puzzling that whole scale inches of space can be missing, but maybe that's a manufacturing/mold thing. Or maybe nobody measured when they scaled down...

scratch built an 8 track player? knowing you, you will probably have the tape spitting out of the damn thing lust like those J. C. Whitney 8 track players did in the day. just an incredible build.

scratch built an 8 track player? knowing you, you will probably have the tape spitting out of the damn thing lust like those J. C. Whitney 8 track players did in the day. just an incredible build. Sorry guys. I haven't posted any progress photos for quite some time, so I'll update you now.
Since the engine was finished, I've done quite a few smaller items leading up to getting the interior and body ready for paint. But of course, like the 8-track player, I get a little side tracked on occasion.
First, I boxed in the front frame rails.
Then I finished up getting the magnets installed for the optional removable hood hinges.
This was where the 8-track player came in.
Then I decided to open the cowl vents.
The next task was to add the trim and seams for a vinyl top.
Then a new firewall wiring harness was constructed and painted.
The next task was to begin construction of a "buddy seat" for the interior.
Then, a steering wheel was modified and new horn buttons and a center cap were made to represent a standard Coronet steering wheel. A horn ring will be added at final assembly.
Finally, a new "auto on the tree" steering column was scratch built in it's entirety.
