Mack DM 600 Dump Truck

Building this Mack DM with the Montone dump from the Autocar dump truck kit. I’m going to add this one to my Super Bee 🐝 Trucking fleet. So another black and yellow truck. Just getting started with painting the yellow and aluminum plate on the dump body. Looks like I’m going to have to lengthen the frame a little. I’ve got some front flotation tires to use on it to.

Thanks but this one is going to take longer I have to lengthen the frame some plus whatever else comes up. I’m also going to the HAMS model show on Saturday with 7 of my builds and it’s going to take some time for me to pack them up and unpack them. This is going to be my first show that I’m taking models to in 2 years.

what are flotation tires?

Al they are wider tires that construction trucks use on the front wheels to help them on muddy construction sites.

nice, thanks. i think i have seen them before on dumps. just thought they were regular tires.

Thanks Al, here’s what my tires and rims are as you can see the fronts are wider. Little more progress on the dump body and closed up the gap between the rear duly’s wheels by a 1/4”. The spacing is off on this kit.

Built the frame today and extended it 7/8” to allow the dump body to fit. Waiting on my black paint to arrive to paint the fenders. Here’s the mock up with the dump body and cab.
