turbos..... who wants hair dryers on their car? all that popping and stuff. 8 miles of piping in your engine compartment. Roots blower or normally asperated. seriously Topside, never been much of a turbo man. don't know why. way cheaper than blowers. back to the subject at hand, still voting for the tunnel ram with a little modification. having those nice carbs sticking out of the hood would be a real nice touch. another observation, watch cutting the hood, in my opinion, the line they have for the hood cutout makes too big of a hole.

Big power needs subframe connectors and driveshaft loop are needed too in case of front U-joint breakage. There is not space to it so I have to cut the chassis for it.

Good brakes are must in pro street. GTX kit has manual drum brakes 😬. I have not found 11" aftermarket disks anywhere and I have to make diy brakes in all four corners. Power brakes are not necessary, manual disks may be ok if master cylinder is suitable. What do you think Al?

What do you think Al? i am running drums all around. i have a disc conversion for the front. actually it is a stock disc setup off a 69 GTX i will install. 11" discs w/ at least 4 pistons should do the job. i an not converting the rears though. i am not a hard core racer where i need all that stopping power. also the complete braking systems today are more balanced. spreads the stopping power to all 4 wheels where as the older systems use the fronts 70% on the time. so, in closing, if i am building a pro street kit and detailing the braking system, it would have discs in all 4 corners. as far as making them, go to your nearest hardware store and find washers the approximate size you need and use those. with your skills, you should be able to make the calipers. watch the thickness of the washers though, too thick and they will look like washers.

Making disc brakes is time consuming. I make brakes and rims from the parts of the kit and styrene rods. The drums had to be drilled with a 14 mm drill to fit the 11" disks inside the rim. Calibers are still missing and they should be found as resin parts. Fortunately, there is no need to make ABS brakes even if they are more efficient in nature. Or are they?

A few parts have been painted and some have been primed. Chassis, skid plate, front and rear torque boxes are still under construction. The brake discs are ready, but the calipers are still missing. Headers, brake booster, distributor, fan and pedals are from the parts box. Should this be painted matte black when it’s the only color I can do properly?

I'm a little disappointed with this kit. The interior is from AMT’s ’68 Roadrunner, but in the stock GTX kit has the right one. Strange. The front shock absorbers are also missing. I took them from the parts box and F&F Charger gives brake booster and steering gear box. Master cylinder is from Revell '69 Camaro. The chassis now painted and torque boxes and skid plate assembled. The brake calipers are made and still need to be painted.

looks great!! is that satin black? certainly not a flat. yes. that kit needs a lot of help. i am surprised that as many times as they put out the different issues, they didn't correct a lot of the things that are wrong. they carried it thru to all the B-body kit too. kicking butt so far. although i am not sure about the chevy master cylinder though. grab one out of a revell Mopar kit if you can. or maybe reshape it to look like an aftermarket one. sorry, i am telling you how to build your kit.

Don't get me started on the AMT RR/GTX kits, haha. Grille support, ft shocks, the goofy molded-in hoses & lines, etc... I wish Revell would do them; their Charger kits are way better. But it's good for developing one's skill set. On the ProStreet kit, there's no fuel tank or cell & no sump, but that can be fabbed.

I have a resin fuel cell but trunk lid should be opened. Body is still unpainted and time is running out.

your farther than me. i got more parts painted last night while listening to the football game. its getting there. i will be done.
the truth, i spent more time tubbing out a chassis for another build than i did working on this one. but i expect a lot of building during Thanksgiving holiday.
the real truth is i started 2 more projects last night. the monogram 70 road runner and GTX. want to do the same with these as i am doing with the 71's. one hemi and one 440+6. spent an hour gathering parts.

I got interior ready but there were some issues with the pedals and I changed them to the parts I found my parts box. Original seats looked a bit weird so I changed them too.
