Decided to build a couple cars I've always wanted but haven't had (at least not yet )
'69 RR in R6 red. It'll be a coupe, buckets, 4-speed, still deciding whether white or black interior & BB or Hemi. Maybe the "recall wheels", maybe Magnums.
'71 Duster 340 in Curious Yellow, 4-speed, probably black interior for contrast, but maybe white. Rallyes, I think.
At this point, body work completed & both in primer (using a GTX kit & converting to RR), most of the Duster sub-assemblies painted, waiting for the final images to pop into my head.
After those, models of my 73 Z28 and one of my 68 Chargers are calling to me, and I really should paint & finish a 1/24 Stuka I last touched 40 years ago...gonna need to fab a big spraybooth for that one !

Hey, thanks ! Hmmm...maybe the R6 RR does need steelies, it's more interesting. Guess I need to buy some more stuff, haha. I don't think I'll do the blackout on the Duster, the stripes are enough for me.

I like the black out but this one in the picture has a black vinyl top that I would not do.

no problem Topside, but i have to say, you guys are poopy-heads. not liking the flat black treatment on a yellow duster? anyways.. i totally forgot about the scooped hood, this is a cool look, don't see it much. yea, i know the scoops come in the kit.... i like this one. i know, its not yellow, just got a little picture happy.

I am just curious, what manufacturer to you plan to buy the Curios Yellow from?

I got it from MCW. Seems a bit greenish & not as bright under indoor light, even though I used white Tamiya primer. Under bright - like LED light, it looks more accurate. If we get some sun tomorrow I want to check it outdoors. (IIRC, MCW says they use PPG formulas, but their '68 white was a bit off, not as warm.) I'm tempted to do a custom mix, adding a bit of a bright yellow.

Being a Duster guy. I looking forward to your Duster build. Check out my EV2 Hemi orange Duster 340.

Scale Finishes has Curios Yellow and you get 2oz plastic bottle for about the same price as 1oz of MCW.

I might try the Scale Finishes - for one thing, I prefer the 2 oz amount; handy when everything I order takes a month to get to me...plus they may use different formulas. IIRC, MCW is usually 7.50, SF is 9.99. On my last paint order, I tried to use SF but he was hitting shows and delaying orders while he was away.

Been trying to order 3 colors from SF this morning - what a pain in the butt. The PayPal "checkout" to place the order just cycles for a freakin' half hour with no end in sight. Can't use the back button or reload, the cart is empty once it goes to PP. No direct email address for the guy, have to load a new email to send a message. Email sent, hopefully they respond so we can do business.

Do you have a better email address for them ?
I jumped through their website email hoops; odd they don't just say on their site what their email address is.
