Thanks Joe! I keep looking at the body and polishing little sections that I find that could use a little more polishing.

After much preparation, I added another coat of paint to the hood only to have fogging and pin holes in the paint! I knew I should have washed the hood first! But, then I discovered a crack in the paint. Now, this is not on the edge where I have added some styrene to extend the hood, but inboard about 1/4 inch from the edge. Ihave decided to toss the hood into a tub with some Easy-Off Oven Cleaner, remove the paint and start all over again! More Corvette to come...

Yes, it is! I wish I knew what caused it. I just can't explain it!

The hood has had the paint removed, been washed and now for it is ready for more bodywork! Oh joy! Have I ever mentioned that I hate bodywork? I do! The crack goes all the way through the hood and I am figuring a way to repair it. I also have to add a coating of filler over the top of the hood and sand it all smooth. More Corvette to come...

Yes, it is! Lately, my trouble seems to be with hoods and poor paint jobs. I have started to rethink my process for hoods and I have come to the conclusion that I use the same process for hoods as I do for bodies. I always separate my hoods from the body when I paint them, so where is the problem coming from? The crack is in the hood and goes all the way through from top to bottom. Maybe it is just bad luck on my part, but I don't really know. I am just about to the point of asking if anyone has a spare hood to offer from the Revell 1969 Corvette Coupe. I have that kit, but I want to use that hood on that build for a stock model.

Thanks Al!
I may have this hood finally where I want it. Another coat of primer and some sanding and I may be all set for some paint.

This is more like it! This is just a quick coat of Tamiya Fine Surface Grey Primer on the hood. Another coat of primer maybe and then several coats of Dupli-Color Forest Green Pearl! More Corvette to come...
