My new project is the '66 GTO by Pontiac. I painted the hood and body yesterday afternoon, but I am not totally happy with the color. It is too bright and reflective! It should be more subdued like the cap is. I may strip the color and start again. I added a Hurst T-Handle shifter and a friend has given me another '66 GTO kit for the decals.

I found a gold in my spray paint box called Tamiya TS-75 Champagne Gold and it sprayed nicely over the Tamiya TS-21 Gold that is already on the body. It is not exactly the color I want, but I had it. More GTO to come...

Yeah it does look like silver. Maybe if you clear it it might darken slightly.

It will darken slightly, but it will still look silver. I have completed the 389 Tri-power engine! More '66 GTO to come...

I assembled the wheels and tires to the GTO. I decided to use the Hurst wheels and the last of my Shabo Tire Graphics. I drilled out the ends of the exhaust system and painted the insides with Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black. I have hand painted many of the parts by hand and will paint the rest with spray cans. More '66 GTO to come...
