*NEW* 2021 Mopars in Scale build-off *NEW*

yes, thats right!! another frigging build-off. i would like to see some good participation on this one. maybe if i work on it, i will actually have a prize for this one. since the site has kind of fallen off due to my neglect, lots of life things for everyone, covid and just plain laziness on my part, i felt one last hurrah for the year should get our feet back on the ground and headed in a better direction for next year.

rules, simple. we all have pretty good stashes, we all have those few kits that have been sitting around forever. we all have those kits that you really would like to build but you keep putting others in front of it. maybe a kit that has a special meaning or a story behind it. well i want you to pull that kit out! that poor neglected kit that has been shouting from the shelf, "BUILD ME!! HEY OVER HERE! PUT THAT DAMN SEMI DOWN AND BUILD ME!!"... and build it. i know, you all are going to say, "i have 3,6 12 projects going right now". sorry, if you were all like me, your bench would be pretty clear.... (no comments please)

- must be a Mopar
- we will trust you on this one, kit must have been in your stash for at least 5+ years
- if kit has a story behind it, thats even better. either how you got the kit or a memory of a 1:1 car (sorry topside, i know you have that runner build going on, maybe we can work something out if everyone agrees)
- any type of build is welcome
- any level of detail welcome

the build off will start October 1st... yea, thats right October 1st so we are all 5 days behind. haha, another great planning job by your fearful leader and will end on Christmas day, 2021.

for example, the kit i will be doing is a 71 GTX. it was given to me by my younger son on my 50th birthday, i will be 62 in a few weeks. he was 8 when he gave it to me. it was the first model kit i got from him. it sits in a special place in my stash.

..so what are you guys waiting for... lets GOOO!!!!

Well, Al, you said Oct 1st but not what year...

But yeah, The White Car (my 1st RR) wouldn't really be fair to the timeline, as it's about 75% done; merely waiting for some detail parts that USPS may have lost.

But there are a couple of other sentimental builds to come after those: orange/orange '71 Duster, and red/white '68 Charger...hmm...and all my kits are over 5 years old, some old enough to vote...

Ok, I'm in! I have a Testors/Lincoln Mint Dodge Charger that has been in the stash for a while now and I just need a motivator to go ahead and build it. Plus, I have a McNally story to go with it. Now, I just need a place on the Forum to build it!

i know we all take our time building... well, some take a hell of a lot longer than others. anyways, this is just something for the group to do because i had let some things slip by this year, model of the month for 1, so i thought if we all can just get that one lonely Charlie Brown kit off the shelf, build them as a group, i can kind of get me feet back under me. picking a kit that my son gave to me will give me extra incentive to hopefully get to the deadline with a completed build.

Al, if you build your '71 GTX I will switch Dakota to '69 GTX Pro Street. Will you accept the challenge? We are both slow builders but we can do it.
